Using Arbitir
Arbitir checks written sources for possible cognitive bias, misleading framing, and faulty logic. Use the report to decide where to read more closely and what to verify.
Open Arbitir and bring a source
Open the analysis screen and sign in or create an account. Review the content policy when prompted. Choose Paste for a passage from a paper, research article, social post, or AI answer. Choose Url for a public article link.
If a page is paywalled, requires sign-in, or cannot be extracted, paste text you have permission to use. Document upload is restricted by account entitlement and is not included in free access.
Run the analysis and check its scope
Select Analyze and wait for the result. Check the words-analyzed count and any notices: long submissions can be shortened to the account word limit, and very short passages may not provide enough context. Free accounts include 3 analyses per day and 30 per calendar month, up to 1,500 words per analysis. Pro includes 100 total analyses per calendar month, up to 5,000 words, for $3.99 USD per month through Stripe. Usage resets at midnight UTC daily and on the first of the month. Platinum offers 300 analyses per month, up to 10,000 words each, for $9.99 USD per month. Both paid plans support document upload. A longer submission is analyzed up to the plan limit, with a notice showing how many words were covered and a link to upgrade. Manage or cancel future renewals from the app Plans page.
Read the summary and findings
A completed assessment uses Trust, Caution, or Don’t Trust as a summary. The report groups detected issues and provides severity labels, explanations, and quoted passages. If the report says Not assessed or Unavailable, it has not returned a clean assessment.
A summary label is not a fact-check or proof that a source is unbiased. The current report checks 25 manipulation tactics; it cannot guarantee detection of every cognitive bias.
Return to the source
Read each quote in context. Does the explanation fit? What evidence would support the claim? What alternatives need consideration? Use those questions to revise your writing or investigate the source. Arbitir does not authenticate every citation, determine authorship, or grade a person’s ability.
Understand data handling
The full submitted body is not retained as an analysis record. Report findings, limited evidence quotations, and metadata are retained; analysis uses hosted services, including AI processing. Read the application privacy policy before submitting sensitive material.
